Where has the time gone since my last post? We’ve expanded our family by adding a 4-legged friend. We’ve added an amazing outside living space to our home. And I’ve planned 3 new adventures for our family. The first adventure will take us south to Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The second takes us to Bald Head Island, North Carolina. And we’ll travel to Central America to spend some quality time on Ambergris Caye, Belize for the third adventure.

Two weeks after returning from our honeymoon in 2003, we got our first dog, Gracie! She was our first baby, and this dog could do no wrong. She was a tri-colored Australian Shepherd and the BEST dog ever. She traveled everywhere with us. We were so in love with her, so much so that on her first birthday we purchased her a doggy cake and invited our closest friends over to celebrate. She won over everyone’s heart who she came in contact with. And she was THE best dog ever to our girls.

Probably one of our favorite photos of Gracie and Kiley.

However last July my family and I had to put our beloved Grace-a-roni down, just after her 15th birthday. Our hearts were broken and we needed a break before jumping right back in as dog owners.

THAT DIDN’T LAST LONG!

Skip to January 2019. We had our pickup date for our new pup. Another Australian Shepherd, however this time a blue merle, male, named Kota. We departed at 3:30am in the morning for our 5 hour, 1 way, trip down to Southwest Virginia to pick up Jaws, as I like to call him. WOW, having a puppy is a ton of work. All the accidents in the house, the biting, OH THE BITING, and of course that puppy breath. If he wasn’t so damn cute we might’ve returned him. Okay, just kidding, but serious…he needs to stop the puppy biting.

As we gear up for our Spring Break trip down to Kiawah, South Carolina, and Kota’s first adventure to the beach, this much needed trip can’t come fast enough. The car will be packed and ready to roll out this Saturday for a 5:30am departure.

Next stop Kiawah, South Carolina. Until then….
