Why Not Just Go

Don't let life get in the way of adventure

Secret Beach

Last night we had reservations for dinner in San Pedro at Blue Water Grill. The restaurant is open air and right on the water. Inside is a huge sign on the wall that reads “I LOVE BELIZE.” The food and drink were fantastic, everything from the conch fritters to my entree, grilled grouper with a mole sauce and fried okra. I highly recommend it!

This morning after breakfast we jumped into the golf cart and headed north to Secret Beach. Now secret this place is not. The ride there is an experience in itself. Swerving back and forth, we tried not to hit one of hundreds of potholes that would swallow our golf cart. Once you arrive you’re waved into a parking spot, which in fact is one of several bars at Secret Beach ushering you into their bar. Once out of our cart we were escorted into Maruba, which in my opinion was the top spot on the water.

We picked out 5 lounge chairs right up front and only a few feet from the water’s edge. The staff were outstanding and very attentive. They set up 2 umbrellas, provided us with 2 floats, and were always checking in to make sure we had cold beverages or if we needed anything. One of the reasons why we loved this place was we arrived at 9am and it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. A few hours later and it felt like a beach party. And the second is the water, the amazingly clear warm water where you can walk hundreds of yards out and only waist deep.

After lunch we ventured back to Grand Caribe where the girls retreated to their room and Briana and I headed to the hot tub to chill and enjoy some quality time alone. Below are more photos of our day at Secret Beach.

Tonight Briana and I made dinner and we enjoyed a relaxing night here in our condo.

Tomorrow, another day of pure relaxation, and maybe a trip into San Pedro for some shopping.
