Horseback Riding and A Surprise Dinner

On Tuesday night we ventured out for dinner to a restaurant with an amazing sunset, Barba Roja. We enjoyed a yummy pitcher of sangria with some great food. Back to the house where I passed out at 8pm (after the four hours at the beach).

This morning started off rough for me as I’ve been fighting a head cold that moved into my chest. But I persevered and our transportation was here at 7:50am for our horseback riding excursion.

After about a 40 minute drive up into the mountains we arrived at Brisas del Nara and were treated to a Costa Rican breakfast before we set off on our horseback ride. I would highly recommend this outfit as it is a family owned and operated business. Our trip consisted of about a 45 minute trail ride out to a waterfall for a quick dip and some photos. And then back for a Costa Rican lunch. Below are some photos of our outing.

After our morning outing we all came back to our villa to relax before Briana’s parents anniversary dinner. We surprised them and hired a private chef to come to our villa and cook for us. It was absolutely amazing!!!! He started us off with some delicious ceviche as an appetizer. For dinner he served an amazing fresh salad with avocado, then we had Costa Rican Snapper and filet mignon with a side of stuffed tomatoes. OH MY!!! And for the girls, he made them their very own cheese quesadillas. They loved that. And for dessert he finished it off with some fruit flambe with ice cream and it was perfect. Such a great way to celebrate 48 years!. Here are a few pics of our chef prepping our wonderful meal.

And now are girls are curled up watching Bird Box on Netflix while mommy and daddy are off to bed.

Tomorrow another early morning to head into the Manuel Antonio National Park for a guided nature hike.
