Golf and Echo Lake…

Wednesday morning started off with a 7:39AM tee time for the men. Kebo Valley Golf Course was established in 1888 and is the oldest golf club in Maine and the eighth oldest golf club in the United States.

We also started a new tradition this year. The loser walks away with this amazing trophy and must hold on to it until our next golf outing. And the trophy was awarded to David Potts with a score of 114.

Hoisting it like a true champ!

While the men were out enjoying the links, the ladies took the kids to play a round of putt-putt golf and then pizza for lunch.

I love it when they show love for each other.

After lunch everyone jumped into bathing suits and headed into the park in search of Echo Lake for some much needed cooling off. This gorgeous fresh water lake is in a spectacular setting. The maximum water depth is 66 feet. Echo Lake Beach is on the southern shore and is staffed by a lifeguard. The beach is the most popular freshwater swimming site on the island. This is a good beach for kids and families as it is relatively shallow for quite a distance. The kids and adults loved swimming and just relaxing in the cool waters. This is must place to visit on a hot day, however the parking can be very limited. So I recommend you get there early or at least have patience when finding a spot.

Once back at the house the decision Amy and Rick went shopping for dinner – Surf & Turf (lobster and steak). The anticipation was killing Maurisa, she couldn’t wait to get another lobster fix. The spread was set and the gang was ready!

DIG IN!

With our bellys stuffed we all retired to the front porch to enjoy an after dinner drink. Then we ventured into town for some delicious ice cream at Mt. Desert Island Ice Cream. This place has amazing flavors, which were delicious, but became famous when the Obamas visited the Main Street store while on vacation back in 2010. Make sure you get here early or expect a wait.

Our night ended with a few games of Cards Against Humanity.
