January 3rd – We spent our last day just lounging by the pool, soaking in the warm sun and enjoying just being together. We had dinner at Rum Dog Bar and Grill which is a three-story open air restaurant that sits out over the water at the end of a dock. The drinks were fantastic. Food – could’ve been better but I would highly recommend it just for the experience.
January 4th – This morning we packed up and said goodbye to Grand Caribe Resort. The wind finally died down which made our 90 minute boat ride back to Belize City for our 12:45pm flight to Atlanta bearable. However before we departed for the airport we grabbed several more pictures.
If there is one thing I would recommend if you are thinking about visiting Ambergris Caye, take the short 15 minute flight over from Belize City to Ambergris Caye. It’s probably easier and much quicker! However the boat ride is very picturesque with all the shades of the aquamarine colors.
Now we’re in Atlanta waiting for our next, and final flight, to Washington DC. We really can’t wait to get home.
Tomorrow we pick up our Kota who’s been boarded. The reports we are receiving says he’s been awesome and has found some cuddly friends to share a cot with during naptime.
It will be nice to be home however we sure will miss Belize. You better Belize it we will be back. What an unbeliezable experience!
