Monday was supposed to be a beach day however due to the extreme wind we decided to drive into Charleston for a day of shopping and sites. We arrived just in time for lunch, so we grabbed lunch at Eli’s Table which I highly recommend. I had chicken and sweet potato waffles with cinnamon butter. Man ‘o man it was delicious.

After lunch we headed over to the historic Charleston City Market. The City Market is a historic market complex in downtown Charleston that was established in the 1790’s. From there we continued our walk down to Waterfront Park and over to Rainbow Row, thirteen colorful historic houses in Charleston. They are the longest cluster of Georgian row houses in the United States. Then back up to Market Street for some shopping.

Waterfront Park.

Tuesday morning we had a tee time with our friend Pat at a Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, Crooked Oaks on Seabrook Island. Our tee time was 9:40am and the wind was a slight problem for us weekend golfers. The course was in amazing shape and it was the fastest round I’ve ever played, right at 4 hours. My score wasn’t great but it’s always fantastic to get out on the links with some of your boys.

Pat’s wife Jaime and their girls met up with Briana and Maurisa back at our house and attempted to make it a beach day. But due to the wind that idea was cut short. The kids didn’t think it was too cold, they all got in the ocean.

After our round we met up with the ladies and kids at Freshfield Village. Pat, David, Kota, and I grabbed lunch at King Street Grill while the ladies continued to shop. We said our goodbyes and went back to the house to relax.

Later that evening after dinner we all geared up for our late evening bike ride around Kiawah Island. We took Maurisa on our house tour of the Kiawah mansions.

This is my favorite!!!

Riding bikes all over the island is such great family time and I love it!

Up next, beach days and dinner at the Moose!
