Yesterday morning Briana and I took in another morning walk around the grounds of Tulemar and witnessed a gang of monkeys jumping all around us, a little nerve wracking I must admit.

Our scheduled adventure of the day was a Canopy Safari/Zip Line tour. We were all dressed and waiting in the lobby at 10:15am for our departure.

They don’t look very excited at this point.

Once on the bus and after a 45 minute extremely bumpy ride, due to the mostly gravel road and a few river crossings (actually through the water), we arrived at Canopy Safari.

The tour starts by walking through a butterfly garden which was not so impressive but I was able to snap a few pics.

They then whisked us away to get geared up for our zip lining in the canopy. The big draw back on this tour is that they don’t tell you that you start out with a 1/2 mile hike straight up hill, with oppressive humidity. It made for a tough climb. This go around I opted out of taking the GoPro and instead just went along for the ride.

This tour not only had zip lines but also a Tarzan swing, 2 suspension bridges, 2 repelling platforms, a free fall jump, and the superman (where you get into this crazy harness and lay on your stomach and fly like superman). We finished out the tour with a delicious Costa Rican lunch of black beans and rice, some delicious chicken, fried plantains, and Mango juice.

Back at our villa we switched into bathing suits and set off for the hidden pool here on property (hidden because we heard no one uses this pool). Great fun for the kids as grandpa kept chasing them under water and playing tag. Both girls love swimming with their grandpa.

Kiley of course posing for the camera!

On our walk back to the villa we stopped to grab a couple photos of the sunset. Amazing!!!!

We ordered pizza in from El Wagon as our New Years Eve dinner and just relaxed for the evening. Unfortunately none of us were able to stay up to see the ball drop and ring in the new year. So Happy New Year!

Today we have nothing planned except for a relaxing day at the beach with lunch and then pool this afternoon.

But on our walk this morning we came across a young male sloth that appeared to have fallen out of a tree. So a passerby contacted the Sloth Institute, and they came down to take him in to check him out.

Poor little guy!
