Villa in the Sky!

Yesterday we made it to Manuel Antonio, and oh my this trip just keeps getting better. After breakfast, we showered and finished packing for the 5 hour trip south to the central coast of Costa Rica to Manuel Antonio. At 9:45am, Diego was at our treehouse ready to shuttle us and our luggage to the reception area as our driver from Morpho Vans was waiting.

I can’t say enough about how welcoming Diego and the whole staff were at Heliconias Nature Lodge. We were a little sad to be leaving such a beautiful property and before we departed we had to take a few more pics for our memory book.

We made the journey in just over 5 hours. Traffic was horrible in some spots. And most of it was because of the famous “Crocodile Bridge.” This is where you can pull over, peer into the river to see the famous Costa Rican crocodile (which we didn’t see).

We passed through Jaco, Playa Hermosa (famous surf spot), and Quepos on our way to Manuel Antonio. Our next and final stop for the next week is Tulemar Resort. We were greeted with refreshing cold hand towels and some delicious mango juice, and led to our villa in the sky, as I like to call it, due to this amazing view.

WOW!

Once settled in, we made a quick trip to the grocery store so Briana and I could make dinner and enjoy a nice home cooked meal on our patio.

This morning Briana and I woke up at 5:30am and decided to explore the resort. The resort sits on a hill side that leads down to our own private beach. On our way down to the beach we ran into a gang of white face capuchin monkeys. Here are a few pics of our morning stroll….

After breakfast we headed straight down to the beach to play in the warm waters of the pacific. Such fun…the girls rode boogie boards with grandpa, jumped in the waves, and had a blast.

Even caught a quick video of Kiley enjoying the warm waters. We did hear from both girls that these waves are nothing like the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Some larger sets came rolling through and Kiley would say “here comes the mother!”.

After our morning beach break we heading back to our villa for lunch and showered for our scheduled 3pm sloth tour with the Sloth Institute which is on property here in Tulemar.

Enjoying lunch on our patio overlooking the property.

We saw several sloths and captured some amazing pictures along with a group of Howler Monkeys. Here are some pics from our tour.

Today we have another zip lining excursion, but this was one is more of a canopy tour, minus the extreme heights. Then back to the property for some much needed pool/beach time.
