July 23rd –
Back on my feet, I woke up early and did an early morning stroll around the Upper Geyser Basin with Briana and David. Got some good photos. Then had a quick breakfast and were off for Grand Teton National Park.
On our way we crossed the Continental Divide, and had to stop and take a few family photos at Isa Lake, a high alpine pond full of lily pads with a surprising story about it’s relationship with the Continental Divide. The girls loved that. Then we made a quick pit stop for another photo opp of a waterfall, Keppler Cascades.
When we made it into the park we had to stop and take yet another family photo.
Shortly before lunch, we arrived at Jackson Lake Lodge. This place is a MUST stay, we loved our cottage! The second floor of the main lodge has huge windows that frame the majestic Grand Tetons in all their glory.
Our afternoon was spent by the hotel’s pool so the kids could burn off some steam while the adults had an afternoon cocktail. That evening we sat on the patio watching the sun set over the Tetons. Absolutely one of the highlights off our trip!
Tomorrow an early morning float trip down the Snake River.
